150th Commemoration of Treaty 6
August 20 @ 8:00 am - August 23 @ 5:00 pm

Four Days of Ceremony, Dialogue, Culture & Gathering to commemorate 150 years since the signing of Treaty 6 at Fort Carlton. A once-in-150-years return to the place where Treaty 6 was first made.
In 1876, First Nations and the Crown entered into Treaty 6 at Fort Carlton on August 23rd, Chief Kamiscowesit’s (Beardy’s) Campsite on August 28th, and Fort Pitt on September 9th.
Join us August 20 – 23, 2026 at Fort Carlton Provincial Historic Park to commemorate the 150th anniversary of this historic agreement. This milestone offers a profound opportunity to reflect on our shared history, honour the Spirit and Intent of Treaty, and reaffirm our commitment to its ongoing implementation for future generations.
